Words of encouregement

Hello! I know it has been a long time since I have last been here and definitely much later than when I originally planned on posting again but, I’m finally back!

I wrote this thinking of the times I was down and needed a little pick me up to get back on the right track. With everything going on in the world and our own lives it can be easy to fall into the frightening thoughts of “What’s going to happen now?” “Where do I go from here?” “When will I know it’s the right time to start that new project?” The truth is, you’ll always be worried about what is to come, it’s life! However, if you get caught up in worrying about what the future is, you might miss what’s right in front of you. The opportunity might be staring you in the face, you just have to take that extra step and grab it! You never know what the future holds, so all you can do is try to live in the moment and enjoy what is happening. Make sure not to get so caught up in what is to come, instead, enjoy what is happening right now. With that being said, I wouldn’t recommend ignoring your problems completely, I don’t want this to be misinterpreted as such, but rather, you’ll have all the time in the world to worry, so take couple more moments to not worry as much.

You shouldn’t wait for “the perfect moment” to start something. There is no such thing. If you do you wait you may never get started. It may not be the perfect time but it is “a” time to get started. I can’t tell you the countless times I’ve said to my mom in the past “I’ll start that after I finish this page” “Once I finish this project then I will be ready to start that movie with you”. Each and every time I do so, I always have that twinge of guilt eat at me thinking, *sigh* “If only I hadn’t waited so long to get this started” or “If I had started this a week ago I would be finished by now”. It never fails to come back around and kick me in the butt. I want to encourage you to pick up that book you’ve been saying you’ll get to. Go start learning the guitar. Take that painting class you’ve been saying you should start.

If you’re waiting for a sign, this is it! There is no time like the present. If you’ve been feeling down lately, all the better to take a step back, breathe, and do something for yourself.

I would advise anyone reading what I write, take what you can and apply it to your own life. Not everything I say should be followed and executed to a T. Everyone’s lives and experiences are different, so take what you can, and just do your best!

—All the best, Coco.
